A traumatic brain injury (TBI) can happen to anyone at any time. Approximately 5% of the population will experience a head injury every year. People commonly report dizziness after even mild head injuries, ranging from room-spinning vertigo to lightheadedness and unsteadiness.

The symptoms caused by a head injury can be similar to dizzy symptoms caused by an inner ear problem. Inner ear balance testing is often used to help differentiate where the dizziness is coming from and guide the next steps for treatment and management.
